  11. This program is for renaming, usually multiple files, hense the
  12. name, using special designed Tools or just manually using a
  13. string gadget.
  14.  
  15. The tools you can use in MultiRen is:
  16. > Sort             - Sort your files anyway, or shuffle them..
  17. > FileCleaner      - Clean your filenames from unwanted characters and more..
  18. > Adaptor          - Make all you filenames have the same filelength, smart one..
  19. > Extension Editor - Change/add/remove/clean up your filename-extensions..
  20. > Renplacer        - Advanced wildcard-based rename/replace/find-functions..
  21. > Numberer         - Number your files, or remove numbers. bin/dec/hex/alfa..
  22. > File Comment     - Edit your filecomments anyway you like!

  24. Two useful thing that I didn't classify as tools..:
  25. > Export list as text.. - Save the list as text for use in a script or as a playlist..
  26. > Map file to filenames - Import new filenames from a textfile.

  28. One of the more useful features of MultiRen is that no files
  29. are actually renamed during your work until you decide so and
  30. then press Rename in the main window so that are able to undo
  31. misstakes before renaming the files.

  33. Another great thing is that you can save the list of filenames
  34. and their states if you want to continue the next day or maybe
  35. just to save the list as a backup so that you can undo your
  36. work at a later state if a tool didn't do quite what you wanted.

  38. You can use it to create playlists, perhaps sorted or shuffled
  39. if you want.
  40. You can also edit filecomments in a flexible way, like adding
  41. date or filelength to them or so.

  45. * Now plugins is supported so that you can get information to your
  46.   filenames from anywhere, like f.ex ID3-tags in MP3's!

  48. * Now all windows is properly disabled during an operation and
  49.   there is also a progressmeter with time display if an operation
  50.   would take long time!

  52. * Filecomments can now be edited with the Renplacer tool!
